Envisage recently delved into the heart of the North's cultural activity with involvement in an exhibition fit-out at the Manchester Art Gallery.

The team realised a design by interior, museum and gallery designer Eleanor Winder as part of the Gallery's Pre-Raphaelite Experiment. This year long project reinterprets their historic Pre-Raphaelite collection for a contemporary audience, which includes the production of a creative hub inspired by four Pre-Raphaelite paintings exploring nature, storytelling, and modern life.

The hub displays the paintings in a warm and accessible domestic setting and is decorated with a range of educative materials made up of notes, explanations and illustrative drawings.

Our remit was to supply and install the bespoke Red Powder coated steel outer frames, as well as fifty assorted picture frames equipped with ultra-formidable Neodymium Magnets to enable customisation of the display. Additionally, a number of descriptive Perspex arrows were installed around the space.

We also installed the AstroTurf mat used by visiting groups. The curved block wall, lounge seating, dressing and plasma display were supplied by the Gallery.

Speaking on the project, Roger McKinn said:

"We were delighted to be involved in this museum fit-out and look forward to more museum-based projects in the future."
