British Exhibition Contractors Association Merger

Following months of intense negotiation between the two main trade associating bodies in the exhibition industry, the two bodies finally came to unanimous decision to merge the AEC (Association of Exhibition Contractors) with the longstanding BECA (British Exhibition Contractors) to form a single trade association for contractors and suppliers working in the events and exhibition industry.

ESSA (The Event Supplier and Services Association) was launched in January 2008 creating a single, powerful voice, which was seen as a long overdue and necessary step by many exhibition contractors and suppliers into the exhibition contracting world.
The additional services that are expected to be delivered by the secretariat are hoped to bring fresh challenges, some of which could change the face of the industry and a plan of a selection of these key deliverables for 2008 are visible on the new ESSA website www.aeo.org.uk
